Say No To Suicide – Give Life One More Chance
Over one million people die by suicide every year.
There are an estimated 10 to 20 million non-fatal attempted suicides every year worldwide.
As per World Health Organization estimates it is the 13th largest cause of death across the world. It is a leading cause of death among teenagers and adults under 35.
Suicide is often committed out of despair, the cause of which can attributed to a mental disorder such as depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, autism spectrum disorders, alcoholism, or drug abuse.
This act leaves behind a lot of broken hearts, unanswered questions and a void which could never be filled.
We as a society need to be more sympathetic, concerned and helpful towards people with certain emotional dilemmas and unspoken needs.
==================================================================
Veiled ache disfiguring the recognition.
Perilous mode of abundant denial.
Someone inside so close to the end.
A heart without hope is simply infertile.
They put themselves against everything.
A wall waiting to be razed by torments.
Inside this glossy wrap of pending cure.
A soul in despair speciously hardened.
Dreams and dilemmas utterly converge.
Indistinct corridors of polluted assists.
Perhaps, it was never meant to be right.
Insecurity in efforts solemnly persists.
You had the right to live a life.
None to label it a cursed existence.
Unheard prayers are not always unspoken.
Their might simply lies beyond acceptance.
Lasting void your severance would create.
Wrecked wills of homes – blistered and dry.
Before you think of it being the only way.
Bless their lives with just one more try.

how many frustrated angry youth think of their loss of lives as seeking recognition of their pain, wanting those who they feel don’t notice them to finally notice them…but it’s too late then isn’t it? Reaching out is the key.
Taking your life is not simply an act of cowardice…it is something beyond…people who take their life are not abnormal…they just require certain special emotional aids.
Moreover, we have to understand that they won’t be able to totally help themselves by their own. We have to be there even if they don’t speak of.
I’m sorry judgement is what I conveyed through my words…I didn’t mean it to be so.
I know that it is not an act of cowardice and that it is not abnormal
and that it is a struggle that makes you blind to all the light that shines
and that darkness sometimes seems more familiar and safer than
all the pain of reality.
Arey nahin !

Its sad that sometime in life we all fall alone … And suicide is an answer when there is no other answer in front of you …. but i feel , family and friends can be of great support during dull days .. infact a person should share their problem with atleast one person … Ending a life is so easy … They should just think about their loved ones when they decide this ~~ And always find a reason to fight back … but i know this philisophies wont work to a person who is in huge debt , like many Indian farmers … !! And i just hate when i see Indian Politician’s Huge Mansions …. cos i know they have built it on some poor farmer’s dreams …. Like any other state in kerala Suicide rate is found more in farmers … its sad …. !!
Nice post Prashant
It can keep all thinking !!!
so well said Archie
It is true that till the time you are not into that stage , you won’t understand the urge and the reasons that lead to this extreme steps being taken. The debt ridden Indian farmers is a story of grief and our erroneous fundamental plannings.
Still, if someone does remind herself/himself about the lives his/her act would demolish – maybe the urge would not be justified by their conscience only afterwards.
Most of the times, suicide is on impulse. I know some people who’ve been happy and chirpy. You can feel the light while they’re around.
But one event changes their life. And they decide to end it. Failure in exams, broken relationships, molestation.
Thats the worse kind. You never see it coming. And then suddenly it just comes.
All we can do is give some more love to everyone we know. Thats the only way out perhaps!
simplest thing we can do is to respect the tag of “social beings” attached with us.
finding out and observing is still our duty.
Weighing the reasons would only lead to one conclusion – it’s never worth – any reason.
Very nice Bhai!
Thank You !!
It’s very comforting to meet people like you. I’m a Psychologist and am aware of the societal deprivation that these individuals suffer from. They need help. Not pity but empathy.

It is so good to be actually getting the comment from someone who has the expertise and knowledge about what really goes inside the heads of people needing spl care.
beautiful post prashant. suicide is a tragic waste of life but usually people do it when they have lost the normal state of mind, not insanity but something close to it.
Thanks Sharmishtha…it indeed needs some thoughtful and humane thinking.
sometimes people nearby cant make them change their mind but mostly they dont care or worse- push them to that brink.
Observing, respecting and helping would simply do wonders.
The least we can do
