Flawed Patience – Gagged Prayers

July 31, 2012 17 comments

There are an estimated 100 million people worldwide who live homeless.

The reasons behind homelessness could be poverty, unemployment, war, disability, substance abuse, domestic violence or mental health to name a few.

These homeless people suffer from violence, abuse, reduced access to healthcare and discrimination.

They may not sound anything of our concern.

The truth is – they are human beings and the causes for their condition are something which would slowly cripple our society and progress.

Perhaps, knowing would initiate the change.

Wearing shadows of broken hope and despair.

I am not a walking ghost you see on the road.

Begging for my diminutive worth before it all ends.

Watching feebly as heed and concern corrode.

Injuries sustained, felt to the core of morals.

Flawed patience determining the silent outburst.

There seems to be no God looking upon us.

Prayers are gagged between hunger and thirst.

Sparkling evil in deeds and needs of people around.

This crowd of immaculate dreamers fails to see.

I have my tribulations penetrating my soul so bad.

One loaf of bread squeezes the sensibility out of me.

These things of amputating power – eating the heart.

Prejudice in confessing the truth of own image.

I am the reality that speaks in-between your success.

Just save this gifted world from the inevitable carnage.

Drenched Witnesses Of Fate

The total number of military and civilian casualties in World War I was over 37 million.

In World War II over 60 million people were killed, which was over 2.5% of the world population.

The Iraq War      –   U.S. Troop Casualties – 4,487 US troops.

54% of US casualties were under 25 years old.

Non-U.S. Troop Casualties – Total 316, with 179 from the UK.

As of 17 July 2012, there have been 2,995 coalition deaths in Afghanistan as part of ongoing coalition operations since the invasion in 2001.

The Kargil War –    Indian Army Cas           :        527 killed.

Pakistani Estimates      :        Over 3,000 killed.

Do we really need war….think again….it is a no win situation for mankind.

One day, you were to bring me peace

rolled up in your beaming smile.

Dreams and desires wandering in bliss.

As life spoke of content for a while.

I’m still holding my tears down

before I break myself into bits.

Wish there was a way to bring you back.

How long would I hold on to this.

Someday, it won’t rain on me.

Drenched witnesses of fate.

Never had I known, before you left,

that in me, existed such atrocious hate.

No urge to pray for the Gods

in whose arms you rest, unmoving.

Wish to tear down every verse

that speaks of his glory in waiting.

That day, I would run back to you.

Reminisces of a life incomplete.

The canvas you left on the wall

has garnered a meaning so discreet.

This life would be in vain

if I am not standing next to you.

I give my immortality and peace

for the one last moment, so true.

God’s Own Sense – Resurrecting The Power Of A Woman

July 30, 2012 21 comments

Men are more prone to become addicts than women. But it becomes difficult for women to quit as compared to men.

The reasons behind women addiction are very different than in men. These could be as a result of violence, biased treatment, harassment and relationship issues to name a few.

Women are the pillars of our society upon which the solidarity and nourishment of our future depends.

They are the strongest. Sometimes, they just need to be reminded of the same.

Still figuring out what went flawed.

You’ve always been so spotless.

Epitome of grace and resolve.

A spirit fabricated with firmness.

Don’t talk as if you’ve lost all.

To create has been your forte.

Indiscriminate judges of morality.

To wrong you, who are they?

You drown yourself in adieu

of some mirror images broken.

The cautious self inside speaks

of the end, an abyss, mistaken.

Credibility of emotions unrealized.

Self-disrespect hurts the core.

Rise with your endless resilience.

Bestowed are you with eternal adore.

Honour the birth of faith inside.

An aura of pristine influence.

Summon the might, usher it now.

In you lies the God’s own sense.

Prescribed Optimism

Addiction is a complex but treatable condition. It is characterized by compulsive drug craving, seeking and use that persist even if the user is aware of severe adverse consequences.

Addicts are not insane or inhuman. They have taken just one bad decision in life which is too strong and too cruel to just go away.

We need to be the support and the inspiration they need. We need to get them back to “living” their life with patience, care and appreciation.

Why am I not supposed to show

the hurt that shivers up my core.

Pebbles of tears that I hold inside.

All the Godly courage lost, galore.

Of those I have walked along,

fighting with prescribed optimism.

More men have fallen but unbroken.

Pledges plagued with cynicism.

The type of desires I’ve known

cripples the will to survive.

Begging illusions to fade away.

Reality recedes, demons pry.

Nibbling upon the lost worth.

Fumes of prayers in dread.

This drug is not going to kill me.

But leave me undead.

Spirit Of Hope – Fighting Cancer

July 26, 2012 29 comments

Cancer can affect people of all ages. Few types of cancer are more common in children. In 2007, cancer caused about 13% of all human deaths worldwide (7.9 million). Rates are rising as mass lifestyle changes occur in the developing world.

The people fighting cancer inside themselves or in their loved ones live with the spirit of hope and patience as they embrace every moment with more warmth and more faith.

Cancer gets cured.

They said

I am not going to live for long.

As if I knew what it meant.

Unbounded spirit. Limitless cherishes.

With untangled modesty, I was sent.

They said

I won’t look beautiful after this.

They did not know my thoughts.

Impressive stanzas. Splendid verses.

The beauty within is what I sought.

They said

It’s going to be difficult.

They had no idea about my family.

Devoted lives. Unprecedented sustain.

A beginning everyday lived gladly.

They said

It is something incurable.

Like they have figured it out all.

Negated guilt. Transformed denotations.

Push life a bit more, I must, I shall.

Untouched Conscience – A Poem On Autism

July 24, 2012 26 comments

Autism is a disorder of neural development characterized by impaired social interaction and communication, and by restricted and repetitive behavior. The diagnostic criteria require that symptoms become apparent before a child is three years old.

Autism should be accepted as a difference and not treated as a disorder.

The parents raising kids with these “special needs” are some of the strongest human beings you would ever come across.

And what do WE complain about – traffic ?

…please check  for knowing the care and the strength.

Washed away principles with innocence so kind.

I have a feel of the world so different from yours.

I see the story being told in the plastic blocks.

Know my sense, beyond the sensibility it goes.

Defying the desires of the usual breed.

We blossom with the urge to not to fake.

The dye of our genuineness so subtly drawn.

Unpretending we act, a pure heart it takes.

My language has words so aesthetically crafted.

Effortless pronunciations of delightful simplicity.

My longings are just for the embrace of your efforts.

In your noble understanding is my sustainability.

Don’t judge me, how I look from outside.

I am not the one who would ever need a cure.

Your diligent endeavours corrupted by normalcy.

My untouched conscience will keep me pure.

The Little Martyr

The military use of children takes three distinct forms: children can take direct part in hostilities (child soldiers), or they can be used in support roles such as porters, spies, messengers, look outs, and sexual slaves; or they can be used for political advantage either as human shields or in propaganda.

In our lives, being lived at some corner of the world, we would hardly realize some of the cruelest realities which demean the very name of human existence. Using children as feeds to nourish the heinous ambitions undefined is a sin beyond any sin.

They have their right to choose their future and the path towards peace and prosperity.

You would have known me as the kite runner

chasing the glitter of spun dreams in silk.

With innocence in sight and logic far behind,

I followed your steps knowing of no guilt.

I knew of a world where prayers came true

in the stories sung by my beautiful mother.

Where she lies now, I just don’t know.

With dust of evil convince, I lost sight of her.

You taught me to snatch from the destiny

as I was bound to be gagged and trampled.

In the omnipresent reality of our race,

you taught me to wear a soul crumpled.

Children of God, with guns of terror.

Who disfigured the purity you had?

A world indebted by your sanctimonious blood.

How the absurd victorious would be glad?
