This New York Love

I see you walking in front of me,

everyday at 10 o’ clock.

Your eyes don’t look around,

as if hiding some shock.

You wait alone for the cab,

but won’t ask them to stop.

Strangled dreams or shattered

or just your heart is cropped.

This New York rain comes hard

and soaks you up to the core.

Are these your tears so pure,

that have lit this heartless floor.

I think I’ve figured it out,

your love has been hurt by lies.

I feel like holding your soul,

bring back hope from the skies.

Tell me

would you want me

to hold this love for you.

Say me

your one wish

I would live to make it true.

Look at me,

give me a chance

and I would do prove

Know this

my love means

giving mine all to you.

Mysterious people…all around us. The desire to be able to be in conversation with that person on the street is both sordid and beautiful at times! Here it is just frank and so very pleasing!

    • September 19, 2012 at 11:18 am

What foolish woman would not want a man who can love this way? If she does not want this guy, send him to the floresta. lol, lovely poem from a forever romantic soul. hugs, lady of the floresta.

Don’t wait for her to speak to you
Walk right up and say out of blue
“You’re beautiful and you should know
    In case nobody does bestow
    Such compliments upon you, Miss”
If you wait for her, you’ll be remiss

This is so touching and profound. It overwhelmed me.
A very beautiful poem….amazingly tender and soft.
Your soul flows as ink on paper and weaves words of magic.

    • September 19, 2012 at 8:52 pm

…and the magic you prescribe in your words of comfort are overwhelming too Doc !

I love how your rhymes don’t merely rhyme. How they are descriptive enough to subtly hit you with a rush of that ‘awe’ sigh.
This is one of the most beautiful writings I have and will come across. 🙂

    • September 20, 2012 at 3:38 pm

I m honored n overwhelmed of ur kind words of appreciation. Writing is more dependent on the correct perception by the reader. You are most beautiful with your words. Thank you.
